Transformation isn't always easy. It takes courage and vulnerability. When I'm feeling emotionally distraught, and the wheel of change is twisting and turning inside of me, I sometimes think that it would be easier if I were still asleep. Still plugged into the matrix with no conscious awareness of who I truly am or what our purpose here really entails. But those thoughts wear off quickly, and my higher self always comes down to remind me that's not what I incarnated here to do.
When I first started on my spiritual journey, I declared myself to live a conscious life.
I saw how my family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers were going about their life, like horses with blinders on their eyes, sleepwalking in a daze from day-to-day. I knew that's not what I wanted to do; that's not who I wanted to be. I think back to the girl I used to be and see her as a distant friend, a stranger, lost in the abyss of all space and time.
It is easy to look at spiritual seekers journeys from an objective point of view. Seeing all the joy, peace, and high vibrations radiating from their being, whether in person or through a photograph. But if you shrink yourself down like the magic school bus and travel deep into their minds and hearts, you will see clearly into the caverns of their story. It is a story of strength to rid of their self-imposed shackles, transmute their fears into freedom, use beliefs to change their biology, discover their passions and turn it into their purpose. As I said, it takes courage and vulnerability. Courage enables us to act from a place of confidence and desire to face what it is before us. Vulnerability allows us to open up our hearts, to be seen without the facades– raw and real. And this isn't always easy either. And if it were, more people would be living courageous and vulnerable lives. So many of us hide behind our self built barriers and conform to comfort.
Human beings are naturally drawn to security and stability, and we don't like change. Yet change is the essence of transformation, and transformation, in my eyes, is the essence of life. We don't evolve physically, mentally and spiritually by repeating the same routines day in and day out. Whether it's a change in perspective, environment, or lifestyle, the seas of change are constantly inflow. You have two choices. You can pack up your courage and vulnerability and hop on the boat, trusting and surrendering in the process. Or you can keep delaying your free ride out of fear and comfort. But eventually, the tide will rise high enough and pull you out to sea herself.
Believe me when I say it's easier to get on board voluntarily. Transformation is the hero's journey. It's uncomfortable. It's messy. It's chaotic. But it's also beautiful. And magical. And full of surprises. It will lead you dreading certain days but also fantasizing about the future. The train of transformation is travelling right now, in the eternal present. Like the moon, its energy waxes and wanes. Its tracks are not always smooth, sometimes their worn and decayed.
And sometimes you'll wish you hopped on another train.
And when you do, remember that this track was designed divinely for you. Traversing through your landscapes, scaling your mountains, and discovering new doorways...
All you have to do is be willing, and the universe will show you the way.
